A motion to allow Ladies to play on the green for one afternoon
per week was rejected 27 votes to 17
22nd March 1948
Mr A Hodge again put forward the proposal that the ladies
be allowed on the green one day per week. Mr R McGee thought this would
cause the green to be destroyed!

Congratulations to the members of the Senior Ladies Rink, B
Cook, M Lawson, R Ballantyne and N Turner (skip) who
qualified for the National Champion Finals in Ayr this July.
The ladies reached the semifinal of this competition but were
beaten by Airdrie Bowling Club

and the Club proud by winning 3 Trophies in the County
Finals played at Dollar Bowling Club on Wednesday

Marion Penman won the Jubilee Trophy in the 2 bowl
pairs by beating the team from Tulliallan

Zena Dawson, Rose Aitken and Mary McFarlane won
the McGregor Trophy in the Triples by beating the team from Sauchie
Bowling Club |

Betty Cook, Ria Ballantyne, Ann Peebles
and Nan Turner won the Beatson Shield in the Rink
competition by beating Alloa Bowling Club |
